Role overview

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) subteam designs and builds the critical electronic architectures, data acquisition systems, and remote power infrastructure needed to monitor and control our rocket tests from a safe distance. In this role, you will take ownership of electro-mechanical hardware design, industrial control hardware integration, and PCB design for select custom ground controls and daqs. You will directly support ground testing operations by wiring, programming, and maintaining the control systems that interface directly with our static test cell and launch pad hardware.

What we are looking for

Note: The tasks assigned to this role serve as the primary focus area where a candidate can stand out most, but members will also contribute to other subteam and launch-operations tasks as needed. Preferred Skills: (Note: These are preferred backgrounds, but all technical skills specific to rocketry and industrial controls are taught on the job.) Basic microcontroller experience (Arduino or similar platforms) PCB design fundamentals (KiCAD, Altium, or similar EDA tools) Understanding of basic electro-mechanical design and control hardware _________________________________ Additional Skills (helpful but not required): Experience with industrial DAQ/PLC hardware (e.g., LabJack) Familiarity with SCADA software architectures Hands-on experience with wiring harnesses, relay boards, and sensor integration

Project context

As a GSE Electrical & Controls member, you ensure that the entire ground support system can safely command, actuate, and log high-frequency sensor data during hot-fire tests and remote pad operations. As much as this role focuses on the electrical components of the testing and launching process it is also and important step in the electrical and fluid integration which allows everything to come together.
